Underground Top Floor
Underground Top Floor (UTF) is an initiative of Vincent Lemson, co-owner of Modest Furniture and co-founder of art space Tick Tack. With UTF Vincent wants to make an extra contribution to the Antwerp art scene.
UTF offers 'young' artists the opportunity to exhibit in its challenging space and thus evolve in their work.
For this Modest Furniture makes their store, located in the well-known building ‘De Zonnewijzer' available. This building, located at Mechelsesteenweg 247 (in front of Harmoniepark) was designed by Antwerp architect Léon Stynen and is also home to Tick Tack.
For its first show UTF was so kind to invite me.

the series
i translate my everyday observations into
sculptural & geometric works. exploring different materials while questioning the limits of fine art by switching back and forth between high-end and ubiquitous materials.
my fascination with order and structure is a foundation of my practice, as well as the subtle interplay between architecture and art.
some artworks seem to dissolve into the architecture, while others seem like a natural extension of it
besides the unique artworks there will be limited edition A2 Riso prints and a set of 3 A5 cards for sale. these editions are graphical representations of the metal works on show
an A5 catalogue will be available
